MIA BIO Launches Employer Connection Initiative to Link Local Talent with Life Science Companies
MIA BIO is piloting an Employer Connection Initiative to help South Florida life science companies discover and connect with local talent. The program focuses on matching students and emerging professionals (from high school, college, and graduate programs) with internships, co-ops, and entry-level positions at local biotech, medtech, and research organizations.
The initiative is designed to systematically link local life science and biotech employers with qualified talent. Bringing together employers, local talent, training programs, and workforce intermediaries to create a coordinated matchmaking pipeline that reflects both current and projected needs. Rather than relying on ad‑hoc hiring, the program uses demand signals from employers to help companies identify candidates who are ready to contribute while giving students and early-career professionals exposure to the industry.
By facilitating these connections, MIA BIO aims to reduce friction between talent availability and employer needs in the region. This is an early-stage but tangible step toward a more integrated and locally sourced life science workforce.
